In-home
Program Volunteers
serve
patients and families living in their own homes or
apartments, or in residential, assisted living or long-term
care facilities. In-home volunteers provide respite for
caregivers and offer comfort and companionship to patients.
They also assist with the routines of daily life such as
shopping, running errands, meal preparation and light
housekeeping.

Volunteers
work with
New England Hospice staff to help family members cope with
the emotions and changes that accompany loss by providing
support and information, and assisting with grief groups and
memorial events.

Support Volunteers
perform a
variety of tasks that include data entry and word
processing, collating information packets, assisting with
mailings.

Education and Outreach Volunteers
act as “information ambassadors” by becoming members of the
New England Hospice Speakers Bureau and making presentations
to business groups, service clubs, faith organizations,
schools and others.
·
Musician Volunteers
entertain
patients and families at the New England Hospice and perform
during special events.
